Lifestyle changes are essential for diabetes management, with tailored diet and exercise offering significant benefits for type 2 diabetes.
Healthy lifestyle contributes to healthy living!
A combination of resistance exercise, aerobic exercise, low-fat diets and low-carbohydrate diets can help to improve glycemic control and support weight management in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). As the incidence of T2DM continues to rise globally, the need for evidence-based routine strategies has never been more critical.
This systematic review of data from randomized controlled trials and observational studies by Muhammad Muaaz Sikandar et al. sought to determine the impact of various diet plans, as well as along with different exercise plans on diabetes management. While low-carbohydrate and mediterranean dietary approaches substantially enhanced insulin sensitivity and reduced blood glucose levels, structured exercise routines—particularly aerobic and resistance training—played a crucial role in lowering hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels and promoting weight loss.
Undoubtedly, personalized diet and exercise plans could recuperate diabetes care, but further research is needed to enhance adherence and effectiveness.
