Acute pain demands rapid, reliable, and well-tolerated analgesia across diverse clinical settings. Despite the widespread use of nimesulide-paracetamol, robust real-world evidence supporting its effectiveness and safety remains limited. This multicenter study evaluated treatment outcomes and tolerability in adults with acute painful conditions managed across clinical centers in India.
This retrospective, real-world study reviewed records of 1,873 adults (mean age of 45.54 ± 21.22 years) treated with nimesulide-paracetamol across 528 centers in India. Pain severity was assessed at treatment initiation and again after 7 ± 2 days. Patient characteristics, underlying painful conditions, changes in pain severity, and reported adverse events were evaluated using descriptive statistical analyses.
The most frequently documented painful conditions were low back pain (33.6%), soft-tissue injury (14.5%), myalgia (14.0%), and dental pain (13.2%). At baseline, 56.7% of subjects reported severe pain, while 34.6% had moderate and 8.7% had mild pain. Following treatment, 66.8% of subjects attained complete pain relief.
Among the 1,062 subjects with severe baseline pain, 71.7% became pain-free, 20.2% improved to mild pain, 4.4% to moderate pain, and only 3.7% remained in the severe-pain category. Among 648 subjects with moderate baseline pain, 57.4% reported complete resolution of pain after the intervention. No adverse events were witnessed during the treatment period.
Nimesulide–paracetamol combination therapy provided clinically meaningful pain relief across multiple acute pain conditions in routine Indian practice.
