Prediction of Arthritis Pain Using the Weather

A new smartphone study may relieve the patients of arthritis by using the weather and this study will be conducted in future to discover the connection between pain and weather, to ensure that if weather affects this debilitating condition.

Dr Will Dixon, director of the University of Manchester's Arthritis Research UK Centre for Epidemiology will conduct this new study. The title of the study is "Cloudy with a Chance of Pain," is supported by Arthritis Research UK.

In this study, people with an age over 17 can participate with their smart phones must have chronic or arthritis pain and moreover these participants have to report the causes of their pain. According to Dr Will Dixon, "People taking part in this study will be helping to answer a question that even the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, couldn't resolve. We are able to do that thanks to the mobile phones".

Dr. Dixon believes that this study can assist arthritis sufferers in UK."We're keen to get as many people as we can. Every person counts. In the future, knowing the link between weather and pain could also help with treatment options," conveyed Dr Dixon.
