Postherpetic Neuralgia

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) can be defined as the complication of shingles, caused by the chickenpox (herpes zoster) virus. It generally affects nerve fibers and skin, causing burning pain that lasts long after the rash and blisters of shingles disappear.
